Is Amie approved by UGC?
The answer is “No “. Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers does not has approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC), which means UGC does not endorse its certification. UGC approves universities and colleges, but it does not deal with approving individual professional certifications like Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers.. In some universities, AMIE Sections A & B pass-outs can do postgraduate studies but not in all, so other universities need AICTE-approved degrees. So, AMIE is not directly approved by AICTE.
Can I complete Amie in 2 years?
1. Qualification process:-
- The Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers program consists of two parts: Section A and Section B.
- Section A consists of non-engineering subjects and it normally takes 1 year to complete.
- Section B consists of engineering subjects and different project work and it normally takes 3-4 years to complete.
2. Timeline
As per The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI), AMIE Section A is a maximum of six years and in another six years, you can pass AMIE Section B.
Theoretically, it is possible but it can be an ambitious timeline looking through your personal & professional responsibilities.
Is Amie valid for govt jobs?
The answer is both Yes & No. You need to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the position. Some recognize it as a B.E. /B. Tech while others require a higher degree.
Is Amie better than BTech?
The answer is not fully yes or no, it depends on your needs, schedule, and career goals.
AMIE :-

- One must have completed 10+2 education with science subjects to get admission to the B.Tech program.
Who is eligible for the Amie course?
There are 2 Sections A and B in AMIE. Any diploma holder can do both of them.
- For Section A you must be an IEI-only Technician Member
